Gulper Catfish (Asterophysus batrachus) is a large predatory fish native to South America. It has a distinctive flattened head with a large mouth, which it uses to swallow prey whole. The body is elongated and covered in a mottled pattern of black and brown. They prefer aquariums with plenty of hiding places, and decor such as driftwood and rocks. Gulper catfish are aggressive predators and should not be kept with smaller fish.
