The Cross River Puffer (Tetraodon pustulatus) is a unique and fascinating species of pufferfish, it is considered the "Holy Grail" of pufferfish. The Cross River Puffer have unique coloration, a dark green back, yellow under belly, and red spots covering its body. Like all puffers they have large front teeth, known as beaks, that need to be filed down by feeding hard, shelled foods or the beak can overgrow causing health issues.

Origin: Native to the Cross River system in Nigeria and Cameroon, Africa.
Max size: up to 15 inches.
Recommended tank size: A minimum tank size of 75 gallons is recommended for a single Cross River Puffer. However, larger tanks with more swimming space are preferred.
Water temperature: 75-82°F
Temperament: Cross River Puffers can be aggressive and territorial, especially towards their own species and similarly sized tankmates. It is best to keep them in a species-only setup or with other robust and aggressive fish species.
Diet: Cross River Puffers are carnivorous and require a diet primarily consisting of meaty foods. Offer a variety of live or frozen foods such as snails, shrimp, worms, and small fish. Their diet should be varied to ensure proper nutrition.
Lifespan: With proper care, they can live for 5-8 years or longer.
