The Marble Hatchet Fish (Carnegiella strigata) is a peaceful and graceful freshwater fish species native to South America. They have a thin, hatchet body with a silver base color and dark black and brown markings resembling marble patterns. These fish prefer a planted aquarium with a dimly lit environment, as they are sensitive to bright light and sudden movements. They mainly inhabit the top of the tank near the surface of the water. A fitted lid would be required, the Marble Hatchet Fish is known to jump.
