The Black Ghost Knife Fish (Apteronotus albifrons) is a peaceful freshwater species from South America.
They have a long and slender black-colored body and a ribbon-like fin that runs the entire length of their body. To make them feel at home, they prefer a well-planted aquarium with hiding places such as rocks, caves, and driftwood. They are nocturnal and carnivorous, but can be trained to eat pellets.
